The Colonial Office announces that a vacancy exists for an Assistant Director (Industry) in the Departinent of Commerce and Industries in Hong Kong. The duties of the post will be to advise the Government on types of machinery, factory layout and design, and deployment of labour; to conduct research into world and Far Eastern markets for local products; and to maintain liaison between the Hong Kong Government and local industries.

The Hong Kong Government is anxious to recruit a man between the ages of 27 and 30 with a good university degree in Commerce or Economics, who has theoretical knowledge of industry arising from research, particularly in factory design and labour deployment.

Salary: £795, £795, x 45 £1,380, plus expatriation pay at a minimum of 20% of salary, and a variable cost of living allowance. The appointment is permanent and pensionable.
